We’re proud to share that Mindy Wilson, founder of AdvoKids and Zander’s Place, was recently featured on WBIR Channel 10, a respected Knoxville-based news station known for its “Straight From The Heart” community reporting.

Mindy appeared in a segment covering former President Trump’s executive order to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education. Speaking as an advocate for children with special needs, she emphasized how critical it is that states and local governments step up if federal support disappears.

“At the heart of it, this isn’t just a policy debate,” Mindy said during the broadcast. “It’s about ensuring that the kids—especially those who need that extra support—don’t fall through the cracks.”

She went on to say that Tennessee must have a real plan in place to make sure students, families, and teachers aren’t left behind if major funding sources and protections vanish.

As always, Mindy’s focus is on amplifying the voices of families and making sure they are not overlooked in policy decisions that could impact their children’s future.
